Botanical art is a form of fine art that focuses on capturing the beauty, structure, and character of plants. Although botanical art and botanical illustration share similarities, they serve slightly different purposes. Botanical illustration is typically created for scientific or educational use and focuses on absolute accuracy and clarity, often including multiple views or diagrams of the plant. Botanical art, on the other hand, allows more artistic freedom. While still rooted in accuracy and observation, it prioritises composition, mood, and aesthetic expression. My botanical artworks are true-to-life but also reflect personal interpretation, atmosphere, and artistic storytelling.
